2018 General Election Information

2018 Proposed Constitutional Amendments

Get a head start on your amendment reading for this year's election!

There are thirteen (13) Proposed Constitutional Amendments which will be on the ballot statewide in Florida during this General Election in November. Three (3) are Legislative Referrals passed by House Joint Resolution, two (2) are Citizen Initiatives which made ballot position through the collection of petition signatures and eight (8) are the final proposals from the Constitution Review Commission (CRC). The CRC meets once every twenty years to review Florida's Constitution and this will certainly be a historic number of amendments on the ballot for Flagler County. Use the links below to view the full ballot text of the amendments.

In addition to these 13 amendments, the City of Palm Coast Council approved three charter amendment items. City of Palm Coast voters will decide these items in November 2018 for a grand total of 16 issues on the ballot.

1 - Charter Amendments To Update Outdated And To Clarify Ambiguous Charter Provisions
Shall the Charter be amended (1) to remove outdated portions of the Charter, (2) to replace the current legal boundary description with a general boundary statement, and (3) to revise requirements for consistency with state laws.
2 - Charter Amendment To Revise The Charter Review Process To Include An Advisory Charter Committee
Shall the Charter be amended to eliminate outdated language regarding an initial Charter review, to include an appointed Advisory Charter Review Committee in the Charter review process, and to require a Charter review at least once every ten (10) years.
3 - Charter Amendment Revising How To Fill A Vacancy In The Office Of A Council Member
Shall the Charter be amended to provide that a vacancy in the office of a council member be appointed within 90 days unless the vacancy occurs within 6 months of the next regularly scheduled election?
